And a second yelow and black themed card

I told you in the post about my first card for the current Fusion card challenge, that the color combination (yellow and balck), made me suffer. So probably I am a masochist, right?

Anyway, here is my second try.

I've used some Avery Elle (Blossoms and Blooms) stamps that were waiting for me to use them since some weeks, and this funy sentiment from Lawn Fawn (Penelope's Blossoms). The yellow stripes are all Stampin'up.

This one, as the previous, was made with flower stamps so that it also goes to the OLS current challenge (Fabulous Flowers). As it respects the rule of thirds (great rule, by the way) it goes to the CAS-ual Fridays as well.

Paper gift for a dear friend - tutorial

Today, one of my dear friends would celebrate his 40's! Such a nice occasion to have a personalized set of cards. And this is even nicer with a beautiful enveloppe box to hold them right?

So let's go to work.

The importance of sentiments

I've made this card for the current Fusion card challenge. I decided to go for the color scheme: black and yellow. Classical and easy, right? Not so!!!!! I fund it very hard, working with this colors. Dońt know why.

It was a bit blah. I decided to try adding a bit of sparkle on the biger flowers.

Still blah. So I made a second one. Again, not fully satisfied with it.

So I got back to my first one and decided to add a sentiment. And there it was. PERFECT. Funny, and full of joy, and flowers and spring. And CAS enough. Love it in the end.

70's rock

I have already posted about my love of all design related to 70's and 60's (and 30's and...).

And I think my love of rather CAS cards, or evrything with clean and unclutered design, really, is pretty obvious when looking at what I end up designing (even if I am never fully satisfied with the level of simplicity ... but then simplicity is an art, and art needs suffering).

So, this being said, here is result reflecting a bit of all this.... Probablly nothing revolutionary, but looking at this card makes me .. smile ... and willing to dance (rock, of course) ... and dreaming about flower and power, ha!

Winning card!

What a fun with this challenges! After only two weeks of having started, I just had my first win ...

I'm happy and honoured, A big "Thank you!" to all the team from Freshly made sketches!

A 2nd one for the "Freshly made sketches", "The Card Concept" and Fusion Card Challenge"

This one was really easy to do, stamping, cutting two circles with my new circle cutting from EK success (love, love, love it, I've cutted circles of all sizes from newspapers just for the fun of it!), and adding a sentiment (heat embossed on a strip of paper and mounted on dimensional adhesives). And some tiny diamonds for the fun...

And a 2nd card for the "Moxie Fab" challenge, The "Case study challenge" and the "SS Wednesday challenge"

My kids love this card! Wonder why :)
